RHEUMATOID arthritis symptoms could be reduced by making changes to your diet plan, it’s been claimed. This cheap fruit essential oil could help to prevent or relieve painful signs or symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.
Here are five warning signs of rheumatoid arthritis.
- Rheumatoid arthritis pain could be reduced with orange oil
- Orange essential oil acts as an anti-inflammatory
- Single teaspoon of orange oil could get rid of arthritis pain
- Speak to a GP if you’re worried about signs of rheumatoid arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis affects about 400,000 people in the UK, according to the NHS.
The auto-immune condition’s symptoms could be relieved by making some small diet changes, a nutritionist has revealed.
Adding orange oil to patients’ daily routine may help to reduce joint pain, said Dr Josh Axe.
The oil works by fighting inflammation in the body – one of the main causes of painful arthritis joints, he said.
Just a single teaspoon of the oil everyday is enough to get rid of arthritic pain, the nutritionist added.
“Citrus scents make you feel more awake, and the strong anti-inflammatory properties of orange oil have been researched in regard to their effects for helping fight pain.
“If you suffer from muscle, bone or joint pain, orange oil can help turn off inflammatory responses that increase swelling in tissue, making it a natural remedy for bone and joint pain.
“Orange oil also promotes a more positive mood, which is useful for raising pain tolerance and helping you get better sleep when you’re sore or uncomfortable.
“Rub orange oil mixed with a carrier oil onto sore muscles or swollen areas to bring down inflammation.
“Try diluting a few drops of the orange essential oil with 1 teaspoon of avocado or almond oil, and then rub it onto the back of your hand or wherever you have arthritic pain.”
Orange oil is the most effective essential oil at reducing arthritis symptoms, a 2009 study claimed.
It’s also the best essential oil at reducing inflammation, even compared to the more common eucalyptus oil, added Axe.
The strong anti-inflammatory effects of orange oil could also help to prevent infection and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, he said.
Turmeric essential oil could also help patients to manage their rheumatoid arthritis symptoms.
It’s active ingredient, curcumin, is a great anti-inflammatory that could combat the development of rheumatoid arthritis, said the nutritionist.
Rheumatoid arthritis is an auto-immune condition that’s caused by the body’s immune system attacking the cells that line joints by mistake.
The condition can cause joints to become swollen, stiff and painful.
The most common rheumatoid arthritis symptoms include joint pain, inflammation, and having warm, red skin over the affected joints.
It could also lead to a high fever, sweating, and unexplained weight loss.
Speak to a GP if you’re worried about the signs or symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. Diagnosing the condition early is crucial, as treatment could stop it from getting worse.
